When our kinders saw the hula hoops, chalk, bubbles, paint sticks, and garden buckets, they were so excited to try everything.\r\n\r\nThese materials have made such a wonderful difference during recess. We now see students spread out throughout the yard because they have different stations and activities to choose from. With fewer students crowding around the play structure, we have also noticed fewer fights, arguments, and accidents.\r\n\r\nThe craft knives and tape were especially fun because we were able to create a small boat for the children to use during imaginative play. It has become a place where they can pretend, create, and let their imaginations take them on adventures.\r\n\r\nMost importantly, every student now has an activity they can enjoy during recess—whether they want to play, create, imagine, relax, or socialize with their friends. When these materials arrived in the classroom, every child was so curious and excited! They all gathered around the board and wanted to explore immediately \r\n\r\nWe use these new material everyday in variety settings such as one on one setting, small group setting and large group setting. For example, at circle time, I bring the magnetic board in front of all the toddlers who sit on the rug, and we start the daily routine of our circle time. Firstly, we take 3-5 deep breaths and sing a song about who's here today and good morning song, then we start singing the alphabet song. Prior to your donation, we just clapped hands and sang the alphabet song blindly. With your generous donation of the new materials, the toddlers now are able to learn the alphabet visually by observing me pointing at each letter while singing the ABC song at the same time. After singing the alphabet song, the toddlers read each letter together by repeating after me as I point at each letter that is being read. We are also learning the first letter of each student's first name. For example, while I point at or hold the letter \"A\" and ask the whole group, \"Whose name starts with the letter 'A'?\"\r\n\r\nMoreover, we study the numbers after learning the alphabet at circle time. Same as learning the letters, the toddlers watching me pointing at each of the number and count it aloud from 1-10. One of the toddler is already able to put the number \"1\" and \"0\" together and says, \"Number 10!\"\r\n\r\nAs you can see, your kind and generous donation have made significant positive impact on our wonderful toddlers' learning. \"Thank you thank you my heart singing\".","fullyFundedDate":1754076407048,"projectUrl":"project/a-fun-way-to-learn-alphabet-and-numbers/9273051/","projectTitle":"A Fun Way to Learn Alphabet and Numbers","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Xu","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-5_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9997748"},{"teacherId":666970,"projectId":9519510,"letterContent":"Because of your generosity to Help Us Deliver Magazines That Spark Reading for All Abilities!, our classroom now receives 4 Scholastic Let's Find Out magazines each month.
