This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a first-year teacher, so I am working on building my classroom. My students are a wonderful group of third graders with many different academic strengths and struggles. However, my 3rd-grade students come into the classroom eager to learn!

Although my students may not have access to certain resources, I am striving to create an environment that is welcoming and empowering to help them become academically and socially successful.

Our school is a Title I school where our students face struggles daily and we try our best to provide them with the best and most that we can.

My Project

Since I am a first year teacher, I have spent money on getting some of the essentials for my classroom; however, I still need help getting some of the supplies. I want the students to have a clean environment, so I am requesting disinfecting wipes and Kleenex. It is the middle of the year and their crayons are broken or missing, therefore, they need some more crayons. I also want to provide them with a comfy and cozy reading area, so I requesting a cozy couch for silent reading time.

I want my students to feel excited when they enter our classroom.
