Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I teach third graders in a Chicago Public School with a poverty level of 89%. I like to share the enthusiasm for reading and writing with my students. Writing is not an easy skill for all students. Yet, I like to create the right atmosphere for my students during class. I guide them in every step of the way. They enjoy this since they also gain the confidence in writing. At times, they correct me while using our "Editors' Marks". Children enjoy learning to write if and when we emit positive learning experiences. I would like to motivate my students more by being able to take their student-created books, laminate, and bind them. They will feel so proud when they see their final product! My students's books will be preserved for a longer time and they will be able to share their "books" with each other. They will also be able to read them during "Young Authors' Chair" time! On behalf of my students and I, I am requesting for the following materials from Lake Shore Learning Materials so that we can accomplish our goal for our "Young Authors" activities: Classroom Laminating Machine, Laminating Pouches, Heavy-Duty Bookbinding Machine, and Plastic Binding.
