Be the difference in the life of third grade students! You can be the one who helps them reach their goals.
My students attend a public school in New York.
They are predominately Hispanic and African American. More than half of my students are ELL students (English is not their first language) and about one-third are SETTS students (receiving Special Education services). The thing they all are is eager to grow as learners.
My Project
The materials I am requesting are various journals. These journals will allow the students to practice many different reading and writing strategies. I have requested journal on various grade levels therefore allowing each student can work to his/her best ability. The journals are also aligned with the new Common Core Standards, helping my students prepare for the State Exams and meeting requirements of third grade. They will be used for independent work, while I work with small groups of students to improve various reading and writing techniques. They will also be used for homework assignments, allowing parents to see what we are studying in the classroom.
Your gift will allow students to express what they are learning in an independent and creative way.
Students will be working at their level, so no frustration to stop the learning. They will also be using what they have learned in our classroom in a concrete way. This gift will help third graders become better readers, writers and independent workers.
