My Students
Did you love reading as a child or did you have a love/hate relationship with reading? This year, I want my students to fall in love with reading while learning about different components at the same time.
The students in my class will become passionate readers and learners. As a third grade teacher in a Title I school, I rely heavily on books in the classroom. Some students may be able to relate to these books and for other students, reading may be a way out of their personal lives.
My Project
This year, our grade level team has decided to incorporate a reading program that will focus on Common Core objectives while interacting with each of the books. Students will complete activities, interactive notebooks, and more with each of the books to learn more about the genre and themes.
With the variety of books, students are bound to find a topic they love to read. In order for students to fall in love with reading, they have to know what they like first. With this program and these books, students will surely get a taste of every genre and will continue to grow and become avid readers.
