Third Grade Essentials: Headphones, Whiteboards, Book Boxes

My Project

My students are special because they have a unique opportunity to learn among many diverse learners in the classroom. Using the following tools will foster a love for learning and will shape their future to become life long learners. Students use headphones in many ways. Headphones are used everyday in classrooms for ELL students to learn English as well as all students to listen to stories and learn phonics. We also use headphones to take state standard tests.

Students are very curious learners and have a natural thirst for knowledge.

By using whiteboards in the classroom each student can work at their own pace and level. We use whiteboards to help with learning math facts, writing spelling words and learning to write complete sentences.

Students are able to choose from a variety of books to read from our classroom library. Utilizing a book box can offer many choices to students when choosing just right books to keep in them. Students offer a fresh perspective and often see the world with a unique lens. Book boxes give struggling readers a chance to have easier books right next to them to read as well as books that will challenge them when they are ready. Students learning a second language have many types of books inside of their book boxes including books that are in their first language to help with their reading fluency.
