My Students

My third grade students are vibrant, driven, and so excited to learn; therefore, I want to provide them with the best learning space possible to achieve and KEEP these characteristics.

We know that primary students learn best through social interaction and active, hands-on activities in an engaging, comfortable and safe learning environment.

Thirty-three percent of our school's students qualify for free or reduced lunch. Our goal is to get these students off to a great start in their educational journey with a strong reading, math, social, and science foundation. Most importantly, we want to spark their love of learning!

My Project

Imagine the classrooms from 10-30 years ago. Students sitting in five rows of five desks perfectly separated allowing students their own space. That is no longer the classrooms of today. Educators need to provide students with flexible seating, so students are more engaged and focused during instructional time as well as work time. I want to continue to accrue different options for my students to choose from. What works for one student may not work for another.

I strive for my classroom to not only be the best learning environment possible, but a place where students feel comfortable and look forward to coming to each and every day.

By offering my students more flexible seating options, they will have choice seating, a comfortable environment, and more opportunity to collaborate with others. It will also support sensory input and physical health. All with​ hopes of improving student achievement and engagement!
