My Project

In any classroom, it is certain that no two students are exactly alike. This means that the way students think and work best is unique to each individual. Although our current classroom provides opportunity for collaborative workspace, its more traditional implication falls short when thinking about the diversity of 21st century learners. The effort my students put in when working together as community contributors showcases their ability to thrive and become the future of society. To hone in on these essential life skills today will certainly help to shape a better tomorrow.

The impact that flexible seating (or standing) and various spaces for group work will tremendously benefit future projects that align with collaboration in a real world setting.

Standing desks allow sitting students who daydream or fidget in their an opportunity to stay awake and incorporate movement, much like the flexibility of rolling whiteboards. Due to its design, standing desks can even be used during group collaboration and debates. These resources also provide added support to English Language Learners as they practice their expressive language. Various colors of dry erase markers as well as traditional markers are not only used for coloring, but can also be used as a tool for visible accountability.
