Think Talk Focus Succeed

My students need an area for leveled books for quick access as we "book shop" weekly. Fresh, new material engages young readers!

My Students

My diverse student learners come from a small, caring community.

Our school is a Title 1 school.

Many of our friends have a lower socioeconomic status.

My students would benefit from any donation as many come to school without any school tools. Some students attend school without a book bag, snack, or pencil at times.

My 7-8-year-olds are kind and respectful to the adults in charge and really enjoy earning compliment points. Once their jar reaches 100 %, the whole class votes for a reward.

My Project

My students need a mobile cart with bins for their leveled library. With this mobile cart, our books can be sorted and arranged so they have the ease to browse and access literature. We call this book shopping.

Having a common place for fresh, new material will keep my second graders coming back for more.

Every day a different table team bookshops and exchanges for new fiction and nonfiction stories.

Students need to have a framework for our classroom library.

Having books classified with easy access will ensure my friends

on-going interest.
