Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The 5 mil laminating film will make the photos, books, and boards strong enough to limit wear and tear as students utilize their items. The 10 mil laminating film will protect the photos, books, and boards from our students who like to tear items.
We make many communication photos, books, and boards so that our nonspeaking students can communicate with their peers, teachers, family, and community members, which allows them to be more independent in activities like ordering at a restaurant and limits frustration due to not being able to communicate with people in their community.
Imagine having to rely on someone else to figure out your wants, needs, feelings, and illnesses (hurting, upset stomach, etc.), and having to rely on them figuring out what you are trying to tell them. Without the communication books, photos, and boards, our students cannot communicate these things and frustration ensues when the students cannot communicate successfully with their communication partners! This thicker lamination film will allow the students to participate.
