We read the books and have so much fun doing activities that relate to the books. I can target every goal for my students from age three to age 22 (lifeskills students). \r\n\r\nI especially love using books with the students that have articulation difficulties. They don't get new materials very often and get tired of the same books all the time. I am working on making wordlists for each sound my students are working on in these books as we read them. The yellow stands out and is easier for students with visual problems to see. Even thought the paper is yellow the colors show up on the paper. We used a color copier to print the materials. \r\n\r\n\r\nThe terraslate paper was used for sentence starters for students who usually only use 1 word utterances. When the therapist points to the pictures/words the student says the words and adds the last word(s) to make their sentences. Some of the sentence starters are I want, we want I see, she sees,. I like, he likes and more. There are also some choices for descriptive words like colors, shapes, sizes and other describing words to help create longer utterances. The students have really enjoyed the yellow versus the white paper. \r\n\r\nI have tried to teat the paper and it cannot be torn yet it can be cut! Even crumpling the paper does not cause as much damage as with laminated paper. We have students of different ages and different abilities. Some have a hard time holding items or have muscle spasms that result in a lot of crinkled materials.
