My Students

My students do the most amazing things with the least amazing instruments. The instruments are old, some are broken, some even barely work. Yet, my kids perform level 3-5 music and attend festivals and parades. Even beyond that, they aid the local elementary schools with private tutoring and middle school prep. This band program truly is a family and these students make it what it is. They are truly amazing and deserve the help that you would be able to provide.

My Project

Percussion is anything you can strike, shake, or scrape. My students in Percussion Ensemble have been studying various styles of playing as well as different instruments within the percussion family. I also showed them videos of "Stomp" and they fell in love with that style of playing!

My students will use these materials to perform a "Stomp" like piece in January!

"Stomp" likes to use everyday materials in order to make beats or songs. These things range from brooms to newspapers to even matchboxes and their own bodies! And with these different types of garbage cans and buckets I am trying to purchase, my students will too!
