This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are in kindergarten and first grade.
They have disabilities including, but not limited to autism, specific learning disabilities in both auditory and visual processing delays, developmental delays, ADHD, speech and language impairments among other disabilities.
Our school is located in a rough area of South Los Angeles where the majority of students come from very low-income households. They are a great bunch of inquisitive, fun, and diverse learners who need extra support and resources to aid and enrich their learning.
My Project
School has been very different, to say the least this school year. On top of having to adjust to a different way of delivering lessons to my students while home, our classroom was broken into twice during this school year. The laptops and iPads that we had were taken, leaving my class without any technology. Now that we are physically back in school, we need to replace the missing and absolutely necessary items. The school provided us with a document camera and projector but we are still in need of other technology in particular a laptop to connect to the document camera and projector.
The laptop that I am asking for will be used to prepare lessons and slides on a variety of topics.
It will be connected to the classroom document camera and projector so that all students have a clear view from their desk and a safe distance. This second laptop will also be used during small group instruction.
