They Don't Wanna Read Books, but, They Will Read Manga!

My Project

A vast majority of students are low readers or just not readers and they are very self conscious of the stigma of not being a great reader. However, I have discovered that no matter the level of reader my students are, they will read manga and comics.

It's almost a bragging point to be reading those materials and especially if you are the first to get ahold of any of the new manga books.

I want to continue to feed that pride. I am also a manga reader and I started our school library's manga collection with my donated books. My boys tend to feel that my old manga books are too 'girly' and want more with action and humor.
