My students need basic materials like pencils and crayons. They also need a wide range of library books and a laptop to encourage reading & technology in the classroom.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
"Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world." I truly believe education is crucial to a better life. It is my hope that with your help, I can provide all of the necessary tools and resources my students need so that they can be successful this school year.
My students are some of the brightest third graders you will ever meet.
They have a true passion for reading, math and science. Their young minds are thirsting for knowledge and it is truly exciting to be a part of their learning process. Unfortunately, they come from low income homes where their parents struggle to help with homework and projects due to their limited English proficiency. Our school is a Title 1 school that tries to provide all that is needed to help our students but due to budget cuts, it becomes very difficult to do so. I usually find myself trying to come up with creative ways to pay for the materials needed for class projects. More than 90% of our school is on free or reduced lunch. These families struggle financially.
My Project
My students will benefit from your donations because you will be providing them with everything from basic materials like pencils, crayons and ink for our printer to technology in the classroom with the laptop we are requesting. We will use the laptop to research science and social studies topics right from their desks. We will also use the laptop to do Reading Plus and SuccessMaker which are two computer programs that increase their reading and math skills. The leveled reading books will provide the students with an opportunity to find books within their reading range right in our classroom. They will be able to borrow books from our class library to take home and read for enjoyment and to complete homework.
Your donations will make a positive impact in the lives of my students.
You will be providing them with basic materials, technology in the classroom and reading books within their reading range. Furthermore, you will be providing them with an opportunity to succeed. It is my hope that you will be a part of this journey that shows our youth that education is important and should be our number one priority. Thank you.
