Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are eager to learn third graders who are wild about incorporating anything technology into their projects, assignments, and activities! They work hard daily and their enthusiasm for learning grows when they hear that hands-on technology will somehow be involved in their work! I’ve even created some fun technology themes for each day of the week just for them: Manipulative Monday, Technology Tuesday, Wild Web Wednesday, Toss-Up Thursday, and Friday Frenzy! They have shown motivation, commitment, responsibility and PATIENCE when it is time to use the limited amount of technology and resources available in my classroom to complete assignments. They deserve the opportunity to extend and enrich their learning with more digital and electronic devices for the classroom!
My Project
Reading and Math have long been essential subjects in everyone’s classroom. They will always continue to be essential, but I’m trying to find more innovative and exciting ways to teach these and other content areas to my students! What better way than by incorporating these technology driven STEM/STEAM Coding Ozobots! My students will be able to become creators while I immerse them in the world of technology and coding through all content area activities! Lessons will become much more interactive as students will be able to answer reading and math questions (or any other subject) while creating codes that command and direct the small robots to travel and do tricks along their path to completion! They can even digitally connect to iPads and other digital devices where my students will be be able to code through technology! Ultimately, my students will be incorporating science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) all at once! Help me get my students from consuming knowledge, to creating it!
