My Project
In our classroom, we cherish books. We read chapter books, graphic novels, big coffee-table-sized fact books, beautiful picture books, and our favorite: pop-up books.
Be a part of a project that will inspire and empower us to create something new.
Because of their craft and detail, pop-up books are usually out of the realm of what teachers consider appropriate for a classroom library--and certainly, outside of my teacher budget. Nevertheless, I think that having access to this unique combination of literature, engineering, and art will inspire my students. Students will be able to explore the world around them through this popular form of literature. Additionally, literature inspires us to express ourselves to others around us. So many of my students have an insatiable need to create and build; this project will feed a need they have to be creative and experience others' creativity in a new way. I've also requested a how-to book so that we can design and make our own pop-up books.
Art, engineering, and reading go hand-in-hand when pop-up books are at the center. Inspire us to read and create. Thank you for considering our project.
