My students need a binding machine and the supplies to become authors. To read a book is great, but we want to take things further in my class- we are writing our own!

My Students

My students are active, imaginative learners. They have also become excellent researchers. We are writing our own books and stories and I would love to create bound books with their original writing for students to enjoy for years to come.

The idea of being a published author is such a far cry from what most of my students think they will become based on their home life and small support system.

Students do not have many resources needed to learn outside of the school environment. If I can show them what hard work looks like with this reward, imagine the difference it could make!

My Project

We will write our stories based on imaginative writings and nonfiction research the students have already done on a variety of subjects. The students will use the pencils and markers to write and illustrate each page and I will secretly gather them up and create bound works of art for our classroom library.

I can't wait to see their faces when they discover their books in our library.

We will invite the families in as well to have an author share evening. I hope to create an environment where dreams are grown and my students and their families realize that you can rise above!
