This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students love books. I pride myself on keeping enough literature in my classroom to foster a love of reading in every single student. My students love to read.

One of their favorite authors is Dav Pilkey.

Last year, we had a project for his Dogman series. I looped up with the same students to 3rd grade this year and not only did Pilkey release a new Dogman book, he released a whole new series called Catkid Comic. They will be so excited to add his newest books to our room.

Now that they are becoming more advanced in their reading skills, I want to introduce them to the Warrior series as well.

"The Smart Cookie" and "The Sour Grape" are part of The Food Group Books. I read the rest of this series to them last year. I would love to add the latest two to our collection to share with them this year. These books would encourage my students to read more, and hopefully help them become lifelong readers.
