My Project
My class is composed of 22 scholars of all different cultures. My students truly enjoy reading, but don't always have access to text that expose them to each others culture.
My goal is to fill my classroom library with books that expose scholars to different holidays and celebrations celebrated within different cultural backgrounds.
I'd also like to add winter-themed books to our classroom library. Students truly enjoy reading books that they can relate to in the moment. Adding holiday- and winter-themed books will give my students an opportunity to enhance their reading comprehension. My students would be able to make text to self connections, text to text connections, as well as ask and answer questions about different holidays and celebrations celebrated by different cultures within the month of December.
