This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our classroom is a vibrant, welcoming space filled with an ethnically diverse group of students who bring unique backgrounds, voices, and learning needs to school each day. Many of our students face challenges beyond the classroom—but when they walk through our door, I want them to feel safe, supported, and at home.
To help make our learning environment more comfortable, inclusive, and functional, I’m requesting support for a few essential items that will transform our space into a place where all students feel like they belong.
We are in need of a rolling charging tower to support our technology use. With limited outlets in the classroom, this tower will ensure students can access their digital tools without stress or disruption, especially as many rely on these tools for differentiated instruction and learning accommodations.
Floor cushions will provide flexible seating options, giving students the freedom to choose spaces that best support their learning style—whether it’s working independently, collaborating in small groups, or finding a quiet corner to focus.
A reliable heavy-duty pencil sharpener is also crucial for our daily routines. Our current one struggles to keep up with demand, and a new one will help students stay prepared and focused throughout the day.
Lastly, a jumbo tub of sanitizing wipes will help us maintain a clean, healthy classroom where students feel physically safe—something that’s especially important in shared learning environments.
