My Students
The students that I have the privilege of teaching, are everything that is great about my school! They are eager to learn, kind, and concerned about the world around them. They wonder, ask questions, and look for ways to make the world a better place!
My students are very inquisitive learners who yearn to be challenged at all times.
They are always excited to come to art and learn about different artists and experience new and exciting materials. They look forward to coming to art each week, and I look forward to seeing each and every one of them. I teach in an urban school that is truly a gem. It is a unicorn in the city.
My Project
In my art room I always begin each lesson with the students meeting me on the rug . I do this for two reasons, the first reason is is so that we can have our mini lesson and focus. I can make sure there is understanding and get all questions answered.
The second reason is to connect; we only see each other once a week and it is important to me to reconnect and have personal relationships with my students.
We meet on the rug and we feel like a community. We need a large enough rug to make sure that everyone fits and no one gets left out!
