Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
At our school, our students participate in daily science instruction and weekly STEM labs to build their inquiry-based thinking skills, participate in project-based learning, and build key vocabulary and skills around math and science concepts they will use in school and beyond!
Our teachers are absolutely fantastic (real-life Ms. Frizzles!), but even they can't shrink their class to travel around the human body or blast off to space.
Fortunately, we found Gizmos and Science4Us for that! Gizmos is a pretty incredible collection of over 500 virtual and interactive math and science labs for elementary through high school students. Students actually have the chance to participate in simulations, manipulate variables, and go deep into experiments where students don't just act like scientists - they are scientists!
The subscription provides all 500 students and 75 teachers in our school with access to the entire Gizmos library and Gizmos' partner program, Science4Us. Science4Us is designed to give young learners a head start in STEM instruction with literacy-based foundational science lessons, games, songs, virtual notebooks, experiences, and more!
