Mrs. Martin from Marion SC is requesting reading nooks, desks & storage through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
Help me give my students a more comfortable and colorful place to sit so that we can make our classroom a home again!
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My students come from a small rural area in Marion, South Carolina. Due to Hurricane Florence, we have been displaced from our building and have been unable to return to get any supplies that we previously had. We are currently in a different school within the district.
My class consists of 15 amazingly insightful students, eager to learn new things!
Our school is very community oriented and we carry that into the classroom. We start our day with our school's student pledge. Within that pledge it states "I am somebody. I was somebody when I came. I'll be a better somebody when I leave." Those words are what my students strive to do everyday!
The rug that I am requesting will make our classroom feel like home again. After finally returning to school but not being able to return to our school and have their own seat spot, my students need this Fun with Phonics Rectangle carpet! The fact that they will have their own square to sit in will give my students a sense of ownership and this is so important after coming into a new environment!
The donations will allow my students to learn in a more comfortable and engaging environment.
This rug will allow students to not only have a space to call their own but will provide more comfort when its carpet time! Overall, this carpet will create a more engaging and comfortable learning environment. I truly believe that it will positively impact their learning!
