My Students
I teach 3rd Grade ELA in New Orleans, LA to between 70-75 students a year. I have the most eager, rambunctious, and hilarious students ever. There's not a day that goes by when I don't get a good laugh in. My students are mostly low income and very diverse. Although they have being battling educational gaps due Covid-19 and now the aftermath of Hurricane Ida, they have been extremely resilient and eager to soak up every once of learning they can get.
My Project
My scholars will use Chromebooks daily this school year, both in class and at home. Although some students can navigate the mousepad on the Chromebook okay, many have problems with fine motor skills and are use to simply having to tap tables and/or phones. These wireless mice would allow my students to access their fine motor skills more successfully than just using the touchpad on the Chromebook. This will not only assist with increasing their fine motor skills, but will also make it a bit easier for them to navigate their Chromebook.
