Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our school is committed to providing academic and socio-emotional services intended to improve students’ daily attendance rates with the goal of increasing academic achievement and decreasing the number of students who do not engage in school. Many of our students come from low socio-economic backgrounds, have experienced many barriers, and are in need of many resources to ensure their success in school, home, and in their community. Students are full of energy, creative, and enjoy expanding their knowledge with hands-on activities.
My Project
We are currently developing an attendance incentive program to improve and promote learning and attendance. Our plan is to reward students who maintain excellent attendance; while also providing support and encouragement to those students with improved participation. These items will help students get excited about attendance and will help the overall culture of the school know that every day counts and every day matters! Helping students improve their attendance will help them not only this academic year but with future grade levels and goals. Students will also feel accomplished after doing their best to attend school.
