This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
As a school social worker, I strive to nurture the emotional well-being of every student, providing them with a safe and supportive environment where they can thrive academically and emotionally. I am excited to embark on a project to establish a therapy office tailored to meet the unique needs of our students.
The goal is to create a warm and inviting space that encourages open dialogue and self-expression.
Through the inclusion of books, games, therapy tools, fidgets, calming decor, and kinetic sand, the aim is to provide students with a variety of resources to explore their emotions and cope with challenges effectively.
Books serve as a gateway to understanding and empathy, offering valuable insights and perspectives on various emotional experiences. Games promote social interaction and problem-solving skills while fostering a sense of camaraderie among students. Therapy tools provide structured ways to process emotions and develop coping strategies, empowering students to navigate life's ups and downs with resilience.
Fidgets offer tactile stimulation for focus and concentration, helping students channel their energy productively during therapy sessions. Calming decor creates a tranquil atmosphere, promoting relaxation and emotional regulation. Kinetic sand encourages sensory exploration and serves as a therapeutic tool for stress relief and mindfulness.
