My students need these 7 great Lakeshore thematic boxes that are full of hands-on fun that match the units in our new Language Arts Program! The themes include families, life cycles, food and nutrition, and more.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
When you went to kindergarten you probably remember playing a lot, well these days a kindergarten classroom looks a little different, but the kids are the same, they still love to play and learn!
I am lucky enough to work at wonderful school in Los Angeles, full of children that love coming to school and learning everyday!
Our school has a very diverse population. Most students are English Language Learners and on free or reduced lunch. My classroom is full of 25 incredible little students. They come to school every morning with smiles on their faces, ready for whatever I have planned for them. They love listening to stories, making friends, and painting.
My Project
This year we started a new Language Arts program and I love it! The topics are very age appropriate and I am able to expose my students many great stories, vocabulary words, and writing opportunities. We are currently in a unit titled "Food." You can probably imagine how much the students like this topic! These Lakeshore thematic boxes are full of so many wonderful resources to help me expand and extend the units for my students. They are full of manipulatives, games, puzzles, and many other useful and relevant resources. There are boxes that match and support almost all of my literacy units: Families, Transportation, Food, Animals, Weather, and Plants.
Having these wonderful hands-on resources would really help to bring the thematic units alive for my students.
They would be able to learn so much and have fun! After all, that's what kindergarten is all about, making learning fun for everyone!
