Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

They have done it! My Pre-K students have graduated Pre-K and are moving on up to Kindergarten. As their teacher, I am moving on up with them. As my students and I go off to Kindergarten together we will be learning new and exciting things. To help my students learn, they are in need of material.

I have a wonderful group of 20 students heading off to Kindergarten with me in our Title I school in Nevada.

For many of these children school is the only place they are exposed to reading, math, and science. I plan exposing these children to the joys of learning reading, writing, and math. These children need every opportunity that I as their teacher can provide in helping them to be successful Kindergarten students. Each child is very excited about learning and they all want to learn as much as possible. As their teacher I would like to keep encouraging their love of learning and provide them as many opportunities to learn as possible.

My Project

My soon to be Kindergarten students need the Thematic Learning Centers set. These centers offer material that my school does not have in Kindergarten. There are eight different themes including bugs, family, and seasons. All of the centers incorporate math, reading, and science with hands-on materials that are grade level appropriate. My students will find all of the thematic centers engaging. These centers will be used for whole group time as a way to introduce the children to the skills that are going to be taught. And once the children understand the material, it will be used for small group centers. In small group centers the children will have the chance to continually practice the skills I have taught in reading, math, and science. These centers also are perfect for my ELL students and my special needs students. These centers will make learning exciting and engaging for every child in my Kindergarten classroom.

By providing my students with these centers, you will be helping prepare them for life long learning.

Life long learning begins at a young age. These children come from homes where learning is either not appreciated or keeping food on the table is more important. These resources will help open my students' eyes and show them how important learning is and how education will improve their lives for years to come. Furthermore, these children will gain an appreciation for learning, along understanding of how important school is and will be for years to come.
