My Students

Everyday in our classroom is an adventure. My students are passionate, creative, and ambitious. I teach at a low income/ Title 1 school in Pennsylvania, as a Learning Support ELA Teacher for grades 3-5 and 1st. My students learn in a variety of ways through modeling, repetition, and activities that allow them to be flexible and move freely around the classroom.

In our classroom we are a community of learners in which we support and accept the challenges given to us.

Student in my class have a variety of disabilities but don't let that define them. They are truly and inspiration and little warriors everyday to not allow obstacles to prevent them from achieving their dreams. I seek to provide my students with the foundation to build success both in and out of the classroom.

My Project

Many of my students struggle with concentration to complete classwork by sitting for long periods of time or standing in one place, in order to focus more on a given task. However, I have notice with allowing students to choose where they want to work stimulates their interest and their desire to learn.

Giving students a choice in where they work,providing a comfort place, and allowing physical activity will spark interest and collaboration between peers.

With providing my students with stools, stability balls, flexible seating cushions, and group tables it will allow my students to improve their focus in our small group work and whole group instruction. These are just some of the items that I want to provide to enrich my students education and make them feel comfortable.
