My 7th grade students love learning with their hands! They are curious, creative and love to learn. They are also twelve and thirteen years old, so sometimes it's hard to spark the fire! I take every opportunity I have to try to reach them and teach them something new that they will actually use in the real world! I teach in a small town east of Phoenix and we have a very wide range of socio-economic groups. Our state is filled with geologic awesomeness, but field trips are few and far between so I do my best to bring the outside in to my classroom.
My classroom had super bright LED lights installed (against my will) and with the white tile floor, my room is super bright! In fact, it's too bright! I have found that when the lights are more dim, the students can concentrate better and act more calmly. Most of the time, I keep the lights off and have lamps around the room, but that also makes it hard to read sometimes.
These light covers that I am asking for will allow a more cozy, ambient feel in my classroom, while allowing enough light to work.
It will help the kids stay calm and focused on their work and can also help those who have headache issues or special health and learning needs.
