This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach at one of the best schools you'll ever hear about! My students come from many different backgrounds and circumstances, many of which are not ideal. Yet, despite the many personal challenges they experience daily, my students show up to school ready for the day! Their attitude and enthusiasm for learning inspire me to be a great teacher.
My school is a Title I school in Nevada in which many of my students live below the poverty line and face difficult personal challenges every day.
That doesn't stop them from doing amazing things! My students endure challenging obstacles every day, but they arrive at school smiling and ready to learn. We take care of one another at my school, and I am ecstatic to be teaching a new class to students who have never experienced it before.
My Project
My students need microphones for our upcoming theatre production! We are excited and ready to participate in our theatre program this year! My students are the heart of the school and the community! They work hard to promote community in our new building. We are getting ready for our upcoming performance, and our kids need to have the resources to project their voices to the audience. This opportunity will also cut down on the costs and fees for parents. So many of our families on the east side struggle daily, even more now due to the pandemic. The funding of this project will give students a chance to be a part of something they love!
