This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This year for my 1st grade classroom I am creating a Zen Den library.

The canopy and lamps will help create a quiet place for independent reading.

They Elkonin boxes and pocket word building charts are a great resource that will aide in helping students develop their phonemic awareness skills.

The Zen Den will also be a safe place for students to take a break if needed. The calming posters, fidget toys, and sensory light will help students that often get overstimulated in the classroom.

My goal for creating this project is to bring excitement to the classroom and have a special place for students to read and practice their literacy skills.
