Help me give my students a the opportunity to build their future community!
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Thorn's classroom raised $585

My Project
The Young Engineers Initiative is an opportunity for students in urban areas to gain exposure to the world of civil engineering! I am so excited to bring this initiative to the classroom as it will unlock new ways students can see themselves and their own communities.
Students should know the value of creating and maintaining the community in which they live.
The Young Engineer Initiative will not only provide a chance for students to gain some kinesthetic learning, but they will also become more community-minded. With this Donors' Choose campaign, students will have the tools to build a model town.
Each week, we will use the requested materials to engineer the perfect model neighborhood. This will be a multi-week project; however, I am asking for the resources to get started. The Lego toys would provide a base for building. Our goal is to create the model of a functioning society. This project covers STEM and social studies, and I hope it provides an ongoing interest in civil engineering, architecture, and overall community planning.
