My students need writing tools/supplies to help encourage them to love and feel comfortable with writing. The students range in age from 5 to 14 years old. The majority of them come from low income households. Our school is a Title I school. The majority qualify for free and reduced lunch.
This project will ensure all 220 of my students will have access to technology and writing materials.
I've learned that many of my students love to write but are afraid of writing. They are eager and ready to learn to write. I want my students to have a love for writing. I would like to serve as a role model to demonstrate to my students all (including special education students) how using technology can make your writing come to life.
My students will participate in daily writing activities, writing workshops and online writing. This will allow my students to become comfortable and independent writers. The technology will keep my students engage and provide them with the tools needed in the composing process. Writing becomes more meaningful and will bring their writing to life using a laser printer and the apple computer to enhance their writing skills. Students will be better prepared for the future.
By donating to our project, you will give my students a chance to improve not only their writing skill but also their reading.
I want them to have a wonderful writing experience in the writing lab. This experience will significantly improve and increase their academic achievement.
Thank you for caring. Your donation will help make this a wonderful writing experience for all students.
Evidence shows that high quality writing instruction can improve students reading comprehension, reading fluency and word solving skills. (Graham and Herbert, 2011)
