Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My classroom consists of eighteen high energy students who work from the minute they enter the room until the minute they line up to leave. We work collaboratively during much of the day, and at times, need a bit of space to work independently. Their ages range from five to six years old. They are eager to learn, and love to work with their peers.

Our school is one of two neighborhood schools in our district.

Many students walk home or get picked up by their parents because they live less than a mile from the school. We are a tight-knit​ community that celebrates our school's diversity, achievements, and strives to instill character strengths such as gratitude, kindness, and grit, to name a few.

My Project

Now that we are back in our classroom, space is limited. We must be creative in how effective the space in our room is used.

The "write" table is needed for the right work!

With a dry erase table, my students can easily work on word study, writing, and reading, without having to carry a bunch of materials back and forth from their desks. The table would allow me to conduct small work groups, with minimal materials on the table, allowing for more space for my students to stay socially distant. The smaller table top white board would allow me to have my own space to lead the group.
