Today's students are growing up in a world of texting, Facebook and emails. They abbreviate everything and create their own language to communicate. The art of writing is being lost and I want my students to develop a strong foundation in writing.
My students are a great group of students attending a community day school in a high poverty, low income area.
They are in grades 1-6 and come to school everyday ready and eager to learn. Through an unfortunate set of circumstances they ended up at this school, but they are showing their willingness to work hard and do their best.
My Project
My students need writing and editing journals, writing skills charts, writing process folders, white boards and markers. These resources will help develop basic writing skills and will ensure they become strong writers. My students will have the opportunity to build a strong foundation in writing.
Our students today are growing up today in the world of technology and I want them to learn the value of writing.
Creating this foundation will build confidence and master writing independently.
