Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are creative and expressive. They are culturally and ethnically diverse and open to learning about other cultures and traditions. Many of my students come into my room with little interest or musical experience. My hope is my students develop a life long love for music.
These instruments and materials will help deepen their appreciation and enjoyment of our musical world.
I intend on using these materials to further develop their rhythmic awareness and love of music. These items will help bolster the musical instruments and accessories available to my students. We will use these resources to explore the music and sounds of different cultures. Some of the items will be used for students to play in a modern rock band arrangement. In addition, these items will help students engage with music to help them self-regulate their mood, emotions, and social interactions.
