This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Persistent, idealistic, ready to conquer the world. These are our students. A predominantly low-income population that is consistently "closing the gap," and proving that teens can indeed be goal-driven and full of internal motivation.

Our students juggle high school courses and rigorous college-level courses simultaneously, all while staying involved in extracurricular activities, most importantly, succeeding across the board.

This is just the beginning for them in their long journey of excellence in education wherever they choose to continue that education. They are an inspiration to our community as shown by our the families that have been connected to us continuing to choose our school for younger siblings. Our school is the first and best early college high school in the west Texas region and serves as a leader, often hosting visitors from around the country looking to mimic our success.

My Project

Students need only look around to see the endless possibilities. To stay and study or to travel elsewhere. Many of our alumni have studied across the country and even abroad, but some of our students feel their options are limited.

By using the world map and pins to document where our alumni have studied and worked after graduation, our current students will be inspired.

Along with the map, the scholarship and grants books will assist them in achieving their dreams, after a little legwork and with plenty of determination. Our Student Council will update the map by keeping in contact with our graduates and their next adventures.
