This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I have a classroom of 20 students. My students are very lovable and active. They come from a diverse household and are eager to learn and explore. My students live in Texas and are from the ages of 3 to 5. I have a mixture of Hispanic, African American, Asian, and Caucasian children. My students are exposed to many negative elements in their neighborhoods, so it's important that they are exposed to as many positive elements in our classroom as possible.
My Project
My students love to finger paint every day! They enjoy mixing colors and making colorful paintings. Because we are a non-profit organization, it's hard to get material for the classroom. We have had our art easel for a few years now. It is falling apart, and I have it propped up against the wall; which is not safe and only one student can paint at a time! I tell my students some days we can't use the easel because of safety rules, which makes them sad! I promised them that when we come back this year, the classroom will have a better easel to paint on! Please help me collect the funds to make this promise happen!
