My Students

I teach at a vibrant, diverse, and culturally and socially aware campus on the east side of Austin, Texas. Our campus participates in Arts Integration, No Place for Hate, Social Emotional Learning, and Multicultural Learning.

My students are funny, engaging, and loving.

A good percentage of my students come from economically disadvantaged homes, but regardless, they all come ready to learn. The insight they show on a daily basis shows how much they care about their school, environment, and the world. They deserve so much, especially anything that will help them learn.

My Project

They were born into a world that is rapidly approaching a total move to digital media. All of my students deserve the opportunity to experience it, use it, learn from it and be able to manipulate their learning with digital methods.

Too many of my students don't have sufficient access to the digital world.

With Kindle Fires, my students can improve their reading, math, and understanding of the world around them. The sheer number of apps that are available to support learning is phenominal. We can explore science videos, document our experiments, learn social studies from all over, practice fluency and math basic facts. We can ALL be a part of the digital world.
