My students work so hard every day, despite an amazing amount of odds stacked against them. They are creating innovative, and love to share their voices through writing and technology. Our current struggle is staying current with our students' technology needs. We are at the mercy of our school budget and cannot always afford what we need for students to be successful.
We are located in an inner-city neighborhood where students could be exposed to drug activity, shootings, and countless other crimes.
Despite these odds, our students come in ready to learn every day. We work hard to provide them with everything they need to be successful and our classroom budgets do not always allow for expenses like more current technology.
My Project
This new laptop will be used between 2 teams here at our school. First our Robotic team will use the device to program and run their VEX Robots. The laptop will allow them to complete training and become experts in building and driving the robots that they build.
The second team that will use the device is our Academic Team for Quick Recall matches.
The Academic team needs an updated laptop to connect to other schools in the district and have mock competitions as well as conduct research on the topics that they are becoming experts in.
