My students need a widescreen computer monitor that they can see to view science videos and take virtual field trips.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I teach second grade is an AWESOME school and an AWESOME district. I wouldn't teach any place else. Unfortunately, my students are not able to have the experiences that students from wealthy districts have on a regular basis. My classroom also has students who are physically unable to take field trips even if we had the funding.

My 25 students deserve to experience the world first-hand. However, physical limitations as well as monetary limitations make it impossible for my students to take field trips to places we study. The only way many of my students will be able to see the Wonders of the World will be via a virtual field trip.

We need a computer monitor that we can hook to a computer so that all students will be able to view the screen. Right now, my students crowd around the small 15" screen that I currently have available. The students must view videos in small groups and often I must show a video five or six times in order for everyone to see the clip.

Please consider funding this request. I know that these are tough economic times and they are even tougher for my students. My students will not have the opportunity to see such things as lemmings first-hand but they deserve to experience them via a virtual field trip. My class and I thank you for you thoughtful consideration of this proposal.
