My Project
The school that I teach at is attended primarily by students of color with a large African American population. Over the years, we have been able to expand the diversity of our students, but there is always more room to grow. Students should have the opportunity to learn about all cultures around the world as well as see themselves represented within their classroom.
I want to provide the students with opportunities to learn about the world around us through the use of a social studies center stocked with multicultural puzzles and books as well as maps of the world!
We know that pre-kindergarten students learn best through play, social situations, and exploration. Creating a well-stocked multicultural social studies center will allow them this opportunity on a daily basis!
