My Project
Spring is the perfect time to learn about baby animals and Life cycles!
Hatching eggs is an experience that these city kids will remember for years to come.
They will develop social emotional skills by caring for living things that are vulnerable. They will also gain hands-on science experience witnessing life cycles and building their understanding of the difference between animals that lay eggs and animals that give birth to live young. With resources like the "candle" students can check to see that the embryos of the baby chickens inside our incubator are developing and growing.
Learning about baby chicks is also just as important as pollinators such as bees and butterflies. These insects are also important for our food chain, so it very practical to look into their survival and life cycle.
My students will walk away with a new understanding that they can learn a lot about the animals, plants, and other worldly things around them simply by observing and exploring. This fosters important scientific values, as well as a love of animals and a responsibility to care for our ecosystem.
