My students need a space for small groups to gather with me (their teacher) where they can interact easily. The whiteboard table and chair would allow students to show their thinking easily and effectively!
How can we close the achievement gap when students do not have the necessary materials to succeed? As a fourth year teacher starting in a different school, I am a strong believer that students need personalized learning spaces to succeed across all subjects. I am looking to keep things simple and provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences.
Many of my students come to school each morning and look forward to the consistency and structure that our classroom provides!

My Project
The use of whiteboards is almost a daily activity in my classroom, especially in math. Using the workshop model in math, students come to a small group seminar for guided practice and to record modeled strategies. A whiteboard table would allow me to see exactly what they are doing, as well as provide an easy place for them to show and share their work. By having a whiteboard table and teacher chair, students will be able to quickly and easily share and show their work, while having a focus on increasing their learning!
By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student attention and focus, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement.
Students will be able to simply focus on the academic material at hand, and not dread another worksheet activity to show their thinking on. Plus, it will help me plan more engaging activities along with the ability to see more kids progress, rather than collecting papers and going through them all to see if they grasped the idea!
