We have a greatly diverse classroom of enthusiastic, fifth graders! I work in an elementary school that has over five hundred students. I work with students from all backgrounds, cultures and nationalities and my students are really sweet. They are anxious to learn and love to come to school. I am a special education teacher and I work with students with many learning disabilities. They are curious little learners. They are goal-setters, problem solvers, creative and critical thinkers, collaborators, and communicators. Thank-you for your support.
I would like every student in my class to have their own copy of "The Wild Robot", by Peter Brown. This beautifully written book has many themes that we will discuss with our class this year. Themes such as diversity, kindness, collaboration, cooperation are topics that are seen throughout reading this book. We began reading this book on the first day of school, and right away the students are memorized by it. They asked if when we finish reading it, if they can then read it themselves. I would love for this to be possible, for each child to have their own copy of this great book. We would also be able to share the book with the other classrooms in our grade, so everyone can enjoy this enchanting novel.
