This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students reside in the heart of Northeast Harris County, not too far from the downtown area of Houston, TX.
For the 2021-2022 school year, my students will return to on-campus learning.
As we all adapt to the many challenges of COVID-19, the main focus will be to continue supporting their individual needs as well as their safety.
Many of my students will begin school for the first time, so it's very important to make their learning experiences exciting and adventurous. Not all students learn on the same level, yet capable of leaving their marks in society. This can be done, if only given the chance to a better education.
My Project
Once the students complete the activities taught at school, teachers are often challenged with not having enough effective resources for families to work with their children at home.
With your kind, generous donations, these materials will assist in the progress of student learning in their home environment.
The Family Engagement Packs (Letter Identification, Beginning Sounds, Retelling, Rhyming, Counting, Numbers and Quantities, Patterning, and Shapes) will engage families to continue working with their children on skills taught at school and the Folder Game Library (Alphabet, Phonemic Awareness, Numbers/Counting, and Patterning/Sorting) can serve as additional materials that the children can work on at school and at home with their families. It does take a village to raise a child and with the teachers and families working together, their needs will be met and the learning doesn't have to stop.
