The Whole Child: Multi-Sensory Room

Help me give my students tools such as paper storage and bubble tube to regulate their bodies, brains and hearts.

My Project

Please help me build a sensory space for our school. This area will act as a therapeutic area where students can come to regulate and calm themselves. The space will be available to any student who needs a safe, quiet room to calm their body.

There will be four rooms that make up the sensory space that are designed to help students with kinaesthesia, balance and spatial orientation, or anxiety be able to access tools to help them self-regulate.

The items included on this wishlist were thoughtfully curated with an occupational therapist, a physical therapist and a sped teacher to ensure they would provide targeted sensory benefits.

The research shows us that schools with therapeutic spaces have fewer behavioural instances as well as higher test scores. 

Please help me create a space where our school can take care of the whole child.
