Your generosity has made a meaningful and immediate impact on our classroom, one that is felt the moment you step through the door. Because of you, our learning environment is calmer, more welcoming, and filled with books that spark curiosity, joy, and important conversations.\r\n\r\nReading in kindergarten is equal parts wonder, community, and skill-building. Books like Yes! No!: A First Conversation About Consent help us introduce foundational lessons about body autonomy, boundaries, and communication, big ideas presented in ways 5 and 6-year-olds can genuinely engage with. These are the kinds of conversations that help children build empathy and confidence from the very beginning of their academic journey.\r\n\r\nWe Care: A First Conversation About Justice has quickly become a class favorite. It gives us the language to talk about fairness, inclusion, and standing up for one another. \r\n\r\nOur bilingual students have especially loved Celebrate Las Posadas – Celebramos Las Posadas. One child proudly announced, \"My grandma does this!\" and began sharing details about her family's celebration. Moments like these remind students that their identities belong in our classroom, where they are seen, honored, and celebrated.\r\n\r\nAnd the art book Kehinde Wiley: A New Republic will hopefully inspire a passionate group of budding artists. TThe Impact on Our Environment\r\n\r\nThe sensory-friendly items you funded have transformed our room into a calmer, more organized, and more accessible space.\r\n\r\nBecause of this project, our classroom is more inclusive, more beautiful, and more reflective of the children who learn in it. Your generosity is helping my students build foundational literacy skills and a sense of belonging. You've provided us with tools to talk about justice, identity, consent, and culture in age-appropriate, joyful ways.\r\n\r\nThank you for believing in kindergarteners. Thank you for believing in teachers. And thank you for making our classroom a place where every child can see themselves, feel safe, and grow.","fullyFundedDate":1759616539140,"projectUrl":"project/books-boho/9635651/","projectTitle":"Books & Boho","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Sarah","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9023742_orig.jpg?crop=2286,2286,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1683159877348","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9023742"},{"teacherId":9003142,"projectId":8638500,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generosity, our classroom has been transformed! The new rug has made a world of difference, giving my students a clean, cozy space to gather for learning, mindfulness, and relaxation after recess. It has quickly become the heart of our classroom, where we share stories, engage in lessons, and build our classroom community.\r\n\r\nThe moment my students walked in and saw the new rug, their excitement was priceless—they cheered and couldn't wait to sit on it! The small vacuum has also been a game-changer, making cleanup after messy crafts and celebrations quick and easy.\r\n\r\nWith this fresh, inviting space, our next steps include using the rug for more interactive group activities, story time, and mindful moments to help students reset and refocus throughout the day. I'm thrilled to share how your contributions have made a meaningful difference in my kindergarten classroom.\r\n\r\nWith the sensory tools and flexible seating options you helped provide, my students are now thriving in a classroom designed to meet their unique needs. Weighted stuffies have become a calming tool for students who struggle with sensory overload, helping them feel grounded and focused during lessons. \r\n\r\nThe additional flexible seating options have been a game-changer for many of my students. They now have the freedom to choose seating that best supports their learning—whether they prefer to move gently on a wobble stool or find a cozy, comfortable spot to concentrate. These tools have transformed our classroom into an inclusive environment where every child can feel safe, calm, and ready to engage in their education.\r\n\r\nYour support has created more than just a sensory-friendly classroom; it has fostered a community of learners who feel understood, valued, and empowered.
